New Doctor Who game asks children to save the universe as they learn

Commissioned by BBC Learning and produced by Somethin’ Else in association with BBC Wales and BBC Future Media, the game will help introduce Primary School children to the basics of coding and computer programming.

Somethin’ Else is pleased to announce the launch of its latest game project, The Doctor and the Dalek.

The game features the world of Doctor Who and is voiced by the Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi, as he battles his most infamous enemies in a bid to save the universe.

Commissioned by BBC Learning and produced by Somethin’ Else in association with BBC Wales and BBC Future Media, the game will help introduce Primary School children to the basics of coding and computer programming.

The browser-based game is free and easy to install and gives children the chance to interact and play along with their friends.

Designed to support the BBC’s ‘Make It Digital’ initiative to introduce children to digital technology, software development and coding, The Doctor and the Dalek combines slick graphics and gameplay with a range of puzzles linked to the coding element of the new curriculum.
