Katie Piper's Extraordinary People sees the philanthropist, best-selling author and television presenter talking with amazing people who have overcome life-changing experiences.
We’ve teamed up with Katie Piper for our first self-funded release from our podcast studio Sound Directions. Katie Piper’s Extraordinary People sees the philanthropist, best-selling author and television presenter talking with amazing people who have overcome life-changing experiences.
Each episode will give listeners the chance to hear the emotional stories behind these people’s lives, as well as how they each overcame their individual experience with resilience and positivity. Guests confirmed so far include mother of James Bulger, Denise Fergus, campaigner Brooke Kinsella whose brother Ben was stabbed to death in London a decade ago and bestselling author Alice Liveing, known as Clean Eating Alice. The podcast is to be released weekly on Acast, Apple Podcasts and all good podcast providers. It is the first self-funded release from our new podcast division.
Piper herself is no stranger to adversity. In 2008, she was attacked with acid, which led to pioneering surgery to restore her face and vision. Since then, Katie has become a passionate advocate for other burns survivors, setting up The Katie Piper Foundation. Katie has developed a successful broadcast career with hit shows such as Never Seen A Doctor, Bodyshockers and Face To Face, and has released a number of bestselling books such as Beautiful, Start Your Day with Katie and Confidence: the Secret. Katie is currently a contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Katie Piper said: “Over the past decade I have been inspired by so many extraordinary people, who have overcome often unimaginable experiences with such strength. I want to share these inspiring stories with the public to show just how incredible and resilient we as humans can be.”
