Application starts for Red Bull’s studio live download

We’re proud to announce the release of a mini-documentary in association with Red Bull, Cut Your Teeth is a witty and inspiring short film exploring the highs and lows of life starting out in a heavy rock band.

The film features raucous tales from ‘on the road’,from stories of transport disasters,  to spontaneous tattoo decisions and much more.  It has big stars in the rock scene including Frank Turner, Don Broco, Blitz Kids, While She Sleeps, Arcane Roots, Orange Goblin, Neck Deep, Mallory Knox, Rise To Remain, Deaf Havana, Katie P, Page 44, Hype Theory and Dead Harts. With blistering performance footage and an uplifting insight into true determination and passion, it’s a great watch even for those who aren’t fans of the genre. Check it out below:

The release of Cut Your Teeth marks the launch of the application process for the Red Bull Studios Live at Download project, which Somethin’ Else is also producing. As of today, bands are called to upload a profile to the Live at Download website for a chance to play at this year’s festival. The only key requirements for entries are that the bands have to be unsigned, aged between 16 – 25 and resident in the UK.

All bands who want to apply have three weeks to upload their music up on the site – the application process will close on 21st April 2014. Once a video or mp3 has been uploaded, it will be monitored and ranked on the chart which is designed to measure the amount of hype bands are creating across the web, monitoring Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other sources of online activity, however good old fashioned votes are the most powerful source to help bands rise up the chart.

All songs/videos will be voted for by the general public and judged by a panel of leading industry experts including Kerrang! Radio presenter Katie P, Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Red Bull Records label manager and music industry aficionado Angie Somerside, plus Download Festival veterans Don Broco.

So if you harbour a desire to rock Donnington to its muddy core, sign up your band or check out the entries at:
