Royals, David Beckham, Dame Shirley Bassey and more unite every UK radio station for historic #MentalHealthMinute

Today at 10:59am, every radio station in the UK played a very important message at the same time, uniting to continue the national conversation on mental health.

The 2021 Mental Health Minute, produced by Somethin’ Else, was voiced by Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge alongside influential voices from sport, music and film including sporting legend David Beckham, national treasure Dame Shirley Bassey, chef and food campaigner Jamie Oliver, the iconic Joanna Lumley, pop sensation Anne Marie, England footballer Jesse Lingard, Game of Thrones star Charles Dance, and the poet and mental health activist Hussain Manawer who wrote the script.

Coming towards the end of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, the message, simulcast on over 500 UK stations, encouraged everyone to keep the conversation on mental health going.

Along with the radio broadcast, Somethin’ Else produced social assets which were distributed by all partners in the project including A-list talent, hundreds of radio stations, and supporters of the initiative.

The Mental Health Minute was created by Somethin’ Else and Radiocentre in partnership with The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
