Six of our team nominated in the Radio Production Awards

Sony Radio Academy Awards 2013

For the third year running, Somethin’ Else staff receive more nominations from the Radio Academy than any other production company.

We are delighted to see six of our staff recognised by the Radio Academy with nominations for the Radio Production Awards 2013.

We have staff up for awards as diverse as Best Drama/Readings Producer to the Production Hero Award, where we have two Somethin’ Elsers going up against each other.

Phil Critchlow, Chair of the Radio Independents Group, said:

“The RPAs are a real opportunity for us to collectively acknowledge and celebrate creativity. The great thing is that they’re fundamentally about people.”

“People who have the ideas, compile the scripts, book the studios, guide the voices and mix the sound to deliver the UK produced audio content which sets benchmarks globally.”

Our nominees are:

  • Best Live Music Producer/Engineer – Chris Elcombe
  • Best Multi-Platform Creator – Will Gilgrass
  • Best Drama/Readings Producer – Joby Waldman
  • Best Sound Designer – Eloise Whitmore
  • Production Hero Award – Kate Cooper-Owen & Darby Dorras

The awards take place in Leicester Square, London, on Tuesday November 26. The full list of nominations is here
